FTA between Msia & Japan

soon all cars from japan will be much cheaper from 2008 onwards starting from end of this year where the tariff will slowly be reduced. sounds like a good deal for car buyers but not so for local car makers like PROTON and PERODUA. the market will only get more competitive with this agreement in place. no doubt the govt will do sthg abt this. like introducing the National Motor Policy, expected to be released next month. let see what will be the impact of all these... i hope we as a car buyer will be beneficial at the end of the day... *malaysia boleh*

madagascar

went to watch "magadascar" with friends over the weekend. was a good animation movie. full of creativity, comedy and laughter. animation was fantastic. haven't been able to see a good animation movie for some time now. i think it's a good movie to be recommended. although the review wasn't that good, but i still think it's worthwhile movie since most of us are bored with those action packed movies. time to relax ourselves and enjoy "magadascar". i'm sure u won't regret it. especially with big casts like: ben stiller(alex), chris rock(marty), david schwimmer(giraffe) and jada pinkett smith(gloria). i like the penguin especially with their plot for consipracy. it's very funny looking how the go around trying to get themselves out of the zoo and then finding their way around the wild. overall, very good animation movie!

*BIG* weekend... Star Wars Ep3... FA Cup Final...

spent one of the biggest and longest weekend ever... first there were project deployment which off and on took me over the weekend, then there were the FA CUP FINAL (MAN U VS ARSENAL) and finally STAR WARS EP3: REVENGE OF THE SITH!!! all 3-in-1 just when you think your life is not fufilling enough, try doing this every weekend... the effects will be that you grow old 2-3 times faster... muahahaha... although it was a tiring weekend but it was full with excitement and joy. the action all begins on saturday nite where we(me, gav, ky, kennie, kel n irene) had our big nites out at sri hartamas. we went there for dim sum(place name: Little Dim Sum). According to gav and the forum, it supposed to be one of the best dim sum place around but after we've tested it, we'll agreed it's just so-so. Nothing out of extraordinary. Just another expensive dim sum place where the prices are sky high and the services sucks. Sighed. Nevermind about that, we then headed to the food court area of sri hartamas to get a view on the nite most happening event of the year, FA CUP FINAL! Can see plenty of MU fans all around the place, not much of arsenal fans. Only a handful which includes myself and kel. Supposed to find a place to settle down and watch the match till the end but the place was too crowded with people. We had no choice but to carry on to our next destination. Reached Midvalley in abt 20mins time from sri hartamas. We were there to watch STAR WARS EP3: REVENGE OF THE SITH! hehehehe... "May The Force With YOU!!!" It was all well-planned cause we left sri hartamas during the FA CUP half-time break and when we reached Midvalley it was just nice for us to follow-up from Chilli's. Didn't expect the match to last so long. Till 30mins of extra time and finally the fate of the two teams was decided by penalty. Results are not as expected by many as many fans were left disappointed. It was just pure luck for ARSENAL. At least, i'm happy and can watch Star Wars Ep3 with much peace of mind! ehehehehe... Managed to kill two birds with one stone! Overall, was a good experience for us all and a superb weekend. No regrets!!!

Free Online Storage

Have been searching for this service high and low for the past 2 weeks and finally i've found it! Although, it's rather risky or unsecured to stored your files on someone else server where at anytime they can steal them and view the information in it, at least it's the only free online storage service that offer a decent amount of storage i could find. I'm doing this mainly due to the reason that my harddisk is running low on space and i'm kind of reluctant to spend my money to get at new harddisk at the time being. But of course, it's not advisable to store any personal information or sensitive docouments on this "stranger" web server unless you're willing to take the risk. Still i'm not convinced although i'm just going to store some general files there, i'm not willing to share or i should say let someone else view it. Therefore, my next assignment is still find a fairly good encryption software which allows us to encrypt our files before being uploaded. It need to be a fairly good security to avoid intruder from stealing/viewing our stuffs. At the meantime, i'm just going to upload some files to free up some space. Really running low!!!

MSC... and now MBC... what's next on the table?

Are we trying too hard to be recognised on the world arena? huh... Previously there were MSC(Multimedia Super Corridor) and now they are pushing for MBC(Malaysia Biotech Corporation). Kind of ambitious, don't you think? Anway, I guess the writer does have some point there when she says:
"After all, the government was trying its best to make Malaysia relevant in this ever-changing world. In simpler terms, it was another major effort by the Malaysian government to catalyze economic growth. The aim is to market Malaysia's cost-competitive, skilled labor as one of the major pull factors for biotechnology firms to carry out R&D and conduct their business operations here. Essentially, it forms yet another artery of the MSC, noted an industry observer. "
But at the same time, there are a long lists of other issues that we may need to ironed out before the same repeat happened as with the MSC. Of course, we don't want that to happen, that's why I hope the relevant parties do pay attention and learn from the mistakes. If they can just do that, I think the chances of us being an attractive biotech place for investor is quite assured. Let's wait and see... as usual... over here, most of the things are unpredictable... ehehehe!!!

HaPPY Teacher's Day to all the fellow TEACHERS! You guys rock!!!

today is the day where we show our gratitude and thank our teachers for all of their hardwork they poured into us and make us a wonderful "mould" of the future. i haven't really been able to freely express myself on this day. i used to hate them due to the amount of neverending homework to put on us and the amount rotan i got from them(that's because of my own mischievous). yup, i wasn't old or matured enough to understand then that what they did was for my own good. if weren't for them, i wont be here today. they changed me. they make me a better person. they bring the best out of me. and today i thanked them today for everything they did for me although most of them already retired and i've lost touch with but they'll always remain as my second parents which look after me during my school days. i wish all of them best in health and remains cheerful as always. "Happy Teacher's Day"!!!

Wonderful Quotes From Wonderful People!

I guess the best thing to start a day will be to read some of these quotes. It makes you feel motivated and gets the "engine" going!
1) "You know more than you think you do." -- Benjamin Spock
2) "It ought to be remembered that there is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things." -- Niccolò Machiavelli
3) "Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity." -- Horace Mann
4) "Democracy is the destiny of humanity; freedom its indestructible arm." -- Benito Juárez
5) "If you shut your door to all errors truth will be shut out." -- Rabindranath Tagore
6) "Where men are the most sure and arrogant, they are commonly the most mistaken, and have there given reins to passion, without that proper deliberation and suspense, which can alone secure them from the grossest absurdities." -- David Hume
7) "Life is a long lesson in humility." -- J. M. Barrie
8) "The world is more malleable than you think and it's waiting for you to hammer it into shape." -- Bono

DrMM vs DrAB

hahahaha... found it rather funny reading about this. but is it true? hmmm... after 6 yrs and still they are going against each other. neverending huh? as long as the one which could be framed for sthg he did not do and get back his justice or the other who admits to everything his mistakes he commit during his past 20years of administration. hmmm... i guess it'll be a long tussle and plenty of hot topics to look for in the next couple weeks as this issue goes on. especially after he exposed and spit it all out in the talk. let's hope the truth will come out and we'll all be able to settle down so that we could live in peace and harmony malaysia.

1st Year Anniversary @ blogspot.com

Today I'll be celebrating my first year as a blogger. Joined blogger.com exactly 1 year ago. Time flies man. Sigh! Since becoming a blogger, I've started to pick up on my language and writing skills. I take this opportunity not only to freely express myself and thoughts but also a way to upgrade my skills. Hmmm... not sure how much i've proven in terms of my skills upgrading but I'm sure of one thing. I'm quite updated with the current affairs and news. Especially local news. My favourite of all will be "Screenshots". No doubt it has become the malaysian most celebrated news websites with focus on the local and governance news. I'm glad and proud that at least there's one site here we could almost freely express our thoughts and dissatisfaction of the practices around here. Although up to a certain extent but definitely it's an improvement in terms of "freedom of speech" as compared to 10 years ago. Thanks jeff ooi and screenshots for taking care of us and being there for us just like our pulse that beats all the time whether how tough its going. Looking forward, I hope there'll be more bloggers like myself taking the 1st step and joins the blogosphere community. Never take this part-time job as a blogger lightly cause everything we said and done here are what that will save us and transformed our culture and lifestyle to be of the same as the developed countries. In order to achieve such feast, we need to work hard blogging each day. Hahahaha... i'm just kidding. Work hard to improve ourselves and help Malaysia be more competitive, transparent and safe to stay for ourselves and also the future of our children. Malaysia Boleh, right? 1st World Infrastructure with 1st World Mentality and Citizen. Wawasan 2020!!!

*my wish*

how i wish each day i could have more than just that mere 24 hours?!?! Of course, everyone will love to have more than 24hrs rite? More time, more time to earn more $$$, more time to spend with family, more time to spend our hard-earned $$$, more time to spend with our loved ones, more time to relax ourselves, more time to sleep, more time to think about our future, more time to compare ourselves against the rest, more time to improve ourselves and more time to blog... muahahaha!!! Everyone *WISHED* they could get more but the fact or the reality is there are ONLY 24hrs in a day. How we spend/waste that 24hrs is up to us to decide. No one can take our hrs nor make the hrs away it's us who decide how each hr is going to be spent/wasted. We can't blame people for losing our sleeps, tv time, leisure time and so on and so forth. It's us who is to be blame!!! We design our schedule as such that it may or may not lead to failure or procrastination. Sad to say, I'm one of the well-known victim of mismanagement of time or I should say always *dreaming* that my 25hrs/day will come true. LOL! Although, I always hear people saying that we need to manage our time better, we need to plan things ahead, we need to anticipate the outcome, we need to foresee the future(hahaha... this I don't think so!)... but how many of us really do it? hmmm... although I know a few of my friends or well-known people who does it. Not just doing it for the sake of doing it but they do it so damn well. We just don't plan and then execute it just like that. We need to go further than that. We need to constantly refine it so that as we go along, things will only get done more productively and efficiently.

REMEMBER THIS: ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS!!!

A PERSONAL QUOTE: REGRET FOR NOT DOING THE BEST, NOT FOR NOT DOING IT!

Petty Minister

This is the first ever case being published or known to the public and media. I'm trying very hard to think that what's sort of message the minister its trying to get across to the people? Is he trying to warn us that don't ever messed around with "them" else the consequences maybe your removal or your own demise? hmmm... tt's so scary... AAB(our PM) always stress that we can't be a developed country or be the first class citizen if our mentality is like a 3rd class citizen. huh... looks like "actions does speaks louder than words".... I wonder if "he" were to allow to do what he intended to by removing UPM VC just for that petty matters, I would love to see what the rest of the "same geng of him" would do? Of course, follow suit... it makes me laugh cause to be a 1st world citizen that we need to constantly improving and reviewing ourselves, there are still a "bunch" of people out there with such a mentality and stupidity act tt will not only bring down our years of effort trying "hard" to reach that stage but also worsen the current state of our community. "kai wan xiao!!!" (in mandarin)

something interesting to share...

this was posted by Vertebrato at jeffooi.com as a follow-up on the "candu" issues and i found it rather interesting and would like to share with others... i hope Vertebrato won't mind. thanks. here goes:
I'll say somethg totally off topic here,

When AI talks abotu "USA or UK be the best prescription for a developing country", i found somethg to discuss about,
IMHO, of those developed countries:
UK people tend to have analytical thinking, that's why you see their books like Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter can blow your mind off with their story plots.
And that's why their education plays an important role in their economy.
US people tend to be freedom, therefore they're willing to try everything, that's why they are so well in technology
German tend to be precise, this can be seen from their language. that's why they're so well in engineering
Japan ppl, due to the nature, they lack of resources, therefore, after war, they've trained themselves to be innovative to create somethg that's cost effective.
IF Malaysian has every bit of them, goodbye whiner, we're winner ;)

Follow-up on the "candu"... the hottest topic currently on debate!

Well what can I say, we are all susceptible to all the 3 "candu" as we've been doing so for the past generations. It's time we wake up from our dream and start living in the reality. The govt can't always "spoon feed us with everything". We can't always take things for granted as we always do. Same goes to all the "officials" out there. We are trained since young to be able to answer every single actions to our conscience but does anyone ever do that anymore? Where are all the basic morale values we learned during our school days? Hand them back to our school teachers, i guess rite? Let me tell you this, if we continue to do so without regards on paying serious attention towards the 3 "candu, yeah no doubt we'll be paid one day with a "deserved punishment". I do believe in "action and reaction". Remember the matrix part II movie? Of course, I'm not referring to the movie but in the context I'm more of talking about "trials and tribulations"... sounds familiar to most of you? It always used as the title of a famous drama or most of the famous one will revolve around these 3 famous litle words. Last but not least, Beware of it!

Blogger Anyone???

"We are on the hunt for someone to blog about current affairs and sensational issues, whether in relation to politics, social issues, economic affairs etc. You must have at least 6 months experience blogging. You must have IT or technology interest, know-how and experience with fantastic research capabilities and ability to source for issues to blog about. "

above are the requirements for a blogger hiring by Enche Marketing posted on Sunday, 8th May 2005. hmmm... while reading through the requirements, something came through my mind... does that means anyone who are part of the blogosphere community are qualified to be a blogger??? hey we need more this kind of opportunity as blogging is gaining its foothold here as one of the past time activity for malaysian here. at least if we couldn't meet our current job requirment, I'm sure most of the blogger out there will agree with me that we all are definitely well-suited for that position.

Budget 2006 Wish List

I'm touched by the way this writer put up his points and negate those which are only beneficial to themselves such as:

"But big business, which has been raking in billions of dollars yearly, still does not have any shame from approaching and asking for handouts, tax breaks and incentives. I find it despicable and intolerable."

I totally agreed with the writer and if some of you already noticed, the PM did read about this article and he too impressed with it and come up with his own agenda which is now the main and hot topic around. Thanks Mr. PM for being so attentive! :P

The Meaning of "MOTHER"

The Definition of MOTHER:
M...is for the million things she has given me,
O...means only that she's growing old,
T...is for the tears she shed to save me,
H...is for her heart of purest gold,
E...is for her eyes, with love-light shinning,
R...means right, and right she'll always be.

Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER", a word that means the world to me.
By ~ Howard Johnson (c. 1915)

See what Screenshots got to say about this... i found it pretty interesting and insightful...

Inflation coming your way...

Yeah it just make total sense. 1st the toll prices hike then public transportations and now oil prices. All these will have a direct impact on all our life especially when the "mamak" and "char kuey teow" stalls start to raise their prices. Then followed by the market traders and the rest of the retailers around msia. Doesn't looks good at all. It any of these commodities increased their prices it'll affect the following parties and so on and so forth. It's like the "food" chain. Every single parties whether you are directly tied to the main link or not, the impact will still be there. There's no running from this. Time to save and save and save. Spend less. Eat Less. As for me, it means less outings with friends. Less star pieces but instead mamak. Sighed. Got to be thriftty liao. Just like the IKEA owner, Ingvar Kamprad! More about him here!
