After their agonising defeat at the hands of the reigning champions France on Sunday, England got their UEFA EURO 2004™ show on the road with two goals by Wayne Rooney and one from Steven Gerrard, leaving the hopes of Switzerland, reduced to ten men for the last half an hour after a second booking for Bernt Haas, hanging by a thread.
